Shikha Sharma answered on 19 Nov 2014:
Hi Leah,
My job involves travelling to other places and to discuss my work with them and work in their labs for some time. I have a Marie Curie scholarship which promotes scientist to work across the globe and gain new knowledge. The, we also travel to other places for attending and presenting our work in different conferences… I have been to so many countries because of work and conferences… Its really fun 🙂 I just love travelling..I always stay 2-3 days more after work in a new place to see different places in that country 😛

I get to go to conferences from time to time, and visit my collaborators lab (all the way out in Maynooth 🙂 ). I hope to do a lot of travelling when my PhD is done

I travel all over Ireland doing inspections at chemical plants, mines etc. I also travel to Brussels for EU meetings about the environment. I travel to the UK for training sometimes too. The farthest I’ve travelled was to Armenia to give their government an insight into how we protect the environment in Ireland which was really interesting. Its the people you meet that makes travel so great!
