Septicemia is when bacteria are actively growing the in blod (as opposed ot passing through likein bacteremia). If bacteria have a chance to get into your blood and the immune system can’t defeat them, the result is septicemia. It can be cured most of the time using high strength antibiotics and monitoring the person closely

Getting the right diagnosis in time is critical and the right drugs. It’s similar to menegitis in that the toxins produced by the bacteria do a lot of the damage!

      Hi Michelle Mc Kiernan,

Septicemia or sepsis..is again one of the deadliest disease. In simple words its the disease caused by bacteria and bacteria enters into the blood which makes the condition worst as the blood is flowing in our entire body. As the bacteria enters into our blood it suppresses the immune system of the body. The Possibly causes of Septicemia includes: Wound infection;Surgical infection;Tooth abscess ;Gall bladder infection ;Appendicitis ;Burns; Anthrax ;Postpartum hemorrhage, etc.
To be honest there is no cure for sepsis. the only way to save patient is he/she should be treated as quickly and efficiently as possible . This means rapid administration of antibiotics and fluids.

In my previous research project I have worked with a device which can detect sepsis in just 15 minutes.. 🙂 It was really successful in saving so many people.
