      Hi 322bera39,
Atoms are the basic building blocks of everything that exists. The Greek philosopher- Democritus was the first person who used the word “atomos” meaning “indivisible” to describe the ultimate building blocks of matter.
Atoms are composed of three particles called protons, electrons and neutrons. Protons carry a positive electrical charge, electrons carry a negative electrical charge and neutrons carry no electrical charge at all. Atoms of each element are distinguished from each other by the number of protons that are present in their nucleus.
      🙂
