      Hi Dann,
      All cancer are deadly when found in late stages (meaning when its spread to multiple organ). But as per the studies the lung cancer takes more lives than pancreas, breast, and colon combined. Smoking and use of tobacco products are the major causes of it, and it occurs most often between the ages of 55 and 65 years. There are two major types of lung cancer- small cell lung cancer, which spreads really fast and non-small cell lung cancer, which is the most common.

      Some cancers are very treatable and some unfortunate are currently not. Shikha is right that Lung Cancer is by far the worst in terms of mortality and smoking is the key cause. But Radon and Thoron gas can also build up in houses and cause lung cancer. Check out the radon levels where you live on the EPA website (cut and paste the link below into your browser) where you can even book a test for your house if you’re concerned.
