• Question: what would happen if a huge piece of the sun, like the size of half the pacific ocean, landed in the ocean?

      If it was a piece of the Sun from near its surface, you would be adding about 60 trillion tonnes of hydrogen gas at a temperature of about 5800 C.

      I imagine that suddenly all the Earth’s oceans and icecaps would explode into steam and probably every living thing on Earth. Good job it’ll never happen!
