Hi Kevin,
It should be solved .. Scientists are trying to make new varieties of crops to have better production in order to meet food requirements of everyone in the world. Government has also started so many initiatives like free lunch programs in order to manage the situation. I am sure in coming years we will be able to achieve this..when everyone will have enough food. 🙂
We should also contribute to it by not wasting the food we have.

I sure hope so. The invention of artificial nitrogen fertilisers was a revolution that boosted crop yields worldwide..but now we have 7 billion people to feed and we need a new revolution. Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO) crops that are resistance to disease and can give better crop fields may be the way forward. Humans have been cross breeding plants for thousands of years (wheat is a man-made cross breed of 4 grasses) and GM is just a tool to achieve that quicker and more precisely. People can be very afraid of it, but there is no rational basis to be afraid of it. GMOs are tightly controlled and can only be used under strict licence but hopefully they will be shown to be safe and will help solve the worlds food shortage. While many in the organic lobby argue it’s better food they still use lots of “traditional” chemical s and sprays and there is no additional nutritional value. organic crops also require way more land as the level of spoilage is high and that’s why it so expensive and is in reality a luxury.
