• Question: do you feel appreciated for doing the work you are involved with?

      Yes, yes I do.
      People I teach (undergraduates, other postgraduates) appreciate the time and enthusiasm I give them (I’ve a stack of thank you cards to confirm this).
      The research I do is pretty cool, and my bosses agree and reckon I do a good job.
      Some of my work has been published in a scientific journal, that makes me feel really appreciated (especially the well done note from a senior scientist in my field).

      Hi 374bera39,

      Yes, I have got appreciation for my work always. Sometimes in the form of a patent, a high impact factor research article, increase in salary and so many other ways. It has been my very good fortune to have been supervised or worked with several good mentors. They all are very supportive and encouraging. I love my job it gives me opportunity to work in so many labs across the globe.
